Chromebook Checkout & Help
All HVS students are required to check out a Chromebook to use while enrolled at HVS.
New to HVS/SBHC schools? We will issue you a device to use. If you need a device issued to you, please call us at 863-471-5625 to make arrangements for device pick up.
Transferring from another SBHC school? In most cases, you will turn in your previous school's computer and be issued a new one here at HVS.
Transferring to another SBHC school? In most cases, you will bring your Chromebook and charger back to HVS.
I am a homeschooled flex student, can I get a Chromebook? No, district Chromebooks are only available for full-time students in our district.
Do I have to pay anything to use a Chromebook at HVS?
Each year, a contract and a $10 usage fee are to be completed and turned in. The usage fee will also cover one repair due to accidental damage. Contract and fee must be in before the deadline each school year. You pay this fee one time, so if you paid it at a face-to-face school, we will transfer your fee to HVS and also if you paid at HVS and transfer to another school, we'll transfer it there. Once you use the fee, you are responsible for 100% of repairs thereafter. Chargers are $25 and not covered.
I need to request troubleshooting or repair, what do I do?
If your trouble is with Canvas, your teacher is your first stop. They can help with login and basic troubleshooting like clearing your cache. They can also request a hotspot for you, which is usually provided within 24-48 hours, and 100GB/year is provided by a grant with T-Mobile.
If your problem is with your Chromebook or something is broken, you should call and make an appointment with our repair technician. Call 863-471-5625 and we'll troubleshoot over the phone, or schedule a time to have it repaired or swapped into a different device.
