Study Skills Instruction
Highlands Virtual School is dedicated to the success of our students. Online learning lends incredible flexibility to the student. The student can study when and where they chose. However, online learning is not for everyone. HVS eligibility requirements help us to ensure that students are receiving their education in a setting that is conducive to their learning style.
Highlands Virtual School eligibility requirements:
2.0 GPA
Have not failed 2 or more core class or have been retained in the previous year
In an effort to help students succeed in this environment, students who are failing 2 or more core subjects will be required to attend Study Skills sessions from January 24 - February 4th. Kindergarten - 2nd Grade 8:30 - 11:00 and 3rd Grade - 12th Grade 8:30 - 3:00. Failure to attend or get caught up on coursework will result in withdrawal from Highlands Virtual School programs.
Open Study Skills Lab
Open Lab will open for all students after the probationary period. Any student needing a quiet place to work or extra help and support can work in the open lab beginning on February 7th. Kindergarten - 2nd Grade are welcome daily anytime during the hours 8:30 - 11:00 and 3rd Grade - 12th Grade are welcome daily anytime during the hours 8:30 - 3:00.
